Photos: The Spartan Race

The Spartan Race is a brutal 4-mile obstacle course that people actually paid to endure on Saturday. Folks from around the country entered to compete in various classes including the Elite class, which started at 9 a.m. Hobie Call won the Elite event, though he is well known for this type of competition - he was even selling his training DVD in the merchandise tent. The biggest obstacle was the long muddy track under barbed wire, but contestants had to climb up ropes, walls, and rail cars, engage in gladiator-type battles, and navigate a plethora of other physically demanding obstacles. The Spartan Race took place at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers.
