CNN’s Jack Cafferty asks: WTF, Newt?

I’m paraphrasing, of course, but Cafferty says his 4 p.m. segment will ask a simple question of Georgia’s favorite insane blowhard: S’up?The leadership of the Republican Party has quietly made it known it would be a good idea for Gingrich to acknowledge what everyone else seems to be able to see so clearly and make his exit. But like an old hoofer addicted to the footlights, he just can’t bring himself to get off the stage.
Besides that I can’t get past the thought “an old hoofer addicted to the footlights” is a huge euphemism for something that was really awesome and disgusting circa 1928, it’s a legitimate point. Why is Newt still in these primaries? He doesn’t need a book deal. Stewart/Colbert have enough material with the other nutjobs, thank you. And even if he has a squeeze in Tampa and just wants to hang out there during the convention, I’m sure they’d let him in regardless. At least, I think they would. Or is he afraid conservatives now hate him as much as the rest of the world does?
