  • THE LAST STAND: Daniel Radcliffe is up for Best Male Performance at this year's MTV Movie Awards.
Since you had no say in The Artist getting the best picture nod at this years Oscars (and yes it deserved it), you can still add your two cents by voting for your favorite actors, films and scenes for the MTV 2012 Movie Awards. The used-to-be-a music channel just released this year's nominations. As you know, categories skew towards their younger, attention-deficit demographic, so instead of Best Cinematography you get Best Kiss, and in lieu of Best Costume, there's Best Fight.

Scrolling through the blog post on MTV's website, theres a bit of hubbub touting the final stand for the Harry Potter franchise with the series ending Deathly Hallows, Part 2 receiving four nominations including Movie of the Year, Best Male Performance for Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson for Best Female Performance, and Best Kiss by Rubert Grint and Emma Watson.

A few surprises to the ballot this year include The Help for movie of the year and Joseph Gordon-Levitt for 50-50 (that I don't think ANY of the MTV watchers would have seen, just sayin'). Liam Helmsworth gets a bid for best breakthrough performance but to be honest, he doesn't really do anything until later in the books so I'm baffled sans the needs to add a male hottie to the mix for the breakthrough performance category.

Well enough of my thoughts, we'll see what the masses of young adults not occupying something or the other have to say about this years picks when the ballot goes live on Tuesday, May 8, at 8 a.m. The MTV Movie Awards will air on Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m.
