Spokesman says prestigious club will ‘consider further action’ after facts are gathered

The Piedmont Driving Club, which landed in the news yesterday after a member’s very detailed letter complaining about alleged “inappropriate behavior” at a recent golf tournament was posted online, sends a statement:
“We have taken disciplinary action based on what we currently know to be true. We take this matter very seriously and are looking into it further. When all of the facts are gathered and verified, we will consider further action.”
The spokesman declined to say what the club “currently knows to be true.”
