The private reception costs $1,000 per person. Or, for $5,000, you can pay to have your very own picture taken with Romney. The former Massachusetts governor won't be the only special guest in attendance. He's expected to receive a "special introduction" by Newt Gingrich. The former House Speaker (and Georgia resident) who dropped out of the race for the White House in May has endorsed Romney for president.
After the reception Romney will attend a special dinner at an undisclosed private home where guests will pay $50,000 per person to benefit the Founding Members of Romney Victory. Politico reported in April that the first 1,000 people to donate $50,000 to the fundraising committee would be invited on a retreat with the Republican nominee this summer in San Diego. (Attempts to reach the Romney campaign for comments were unsuccessful.)
Gingrich isn't the only famous Georgian endorsing the Republican candidate. John Rocker, the former Atlanta Braves pitcher known for his on- and off-the-field antics, says he's voting for Romney in November.
