Visual Arts Atlanta Ballet's Wabi Sabi to perform in North Georgia

The Atlanta Ballet's Wabi Sabi was created by veteran company dancer John Welker in 2011 to allow company members the opportunity to choreograph new work and to bring dance performance to non-traditional spaces.
If you can't make it to North Georgia to see the show, not to worry. The company performs next week at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. The Wabi Sabi "Cocktails in the Garden" is a repeat of last year's successful event in which patrons followed a map to different performances, including one in the waterfalls of the Cascade Gardens. The performances are free with the purchase of an entrance ticket to the garden, and the ticket also includes one complimentary cocktail. (Botanical Garden Members enter free of charge). The event takes place on Thursday, June 21 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Atlanta Botanical Garden with Wabi Sabi performances staged throughout the evening in different areas.
Sadly, the two shows are the last opportunity for audiences to see company member Jacob Bush perform with the Atlanta Ballet. Bush has been with the company for five seasons and recently danced the leading role of Curdie in the world premiere of Twyla Tharp's The Princess and the Goblin, which the world-renowned choreographer created on the Atlanta Ballet in February. Bush leaves to join Germany's Ballet Augsburg at the end of this season.
