The Westside Arts District has not one, not two - but several (more than two!) things starting up this weekend as part of its Westside Art Walk, including an artist talk/Q&A with Brad Downey, hosted by CL's own Debbie Michaud, on Saturday.

Landscape painter Drew Galloway has a new exhibit, Lights and Shadow, opening with a reception at 6 p.m. at the Marcia Wood Gallery.
Curated by Andy Ditzler and presented by Film Love, the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center is screening Painters Filmmaking, which includes hand-painted films from artists including Stan Brakhage, Len Lye and Luther Price. At 8 p.m.; tickets start at $3.
Zen Dixie, an exhibition of works curated by John Otte, opens at the Driver Phillips Studio in Cabbagetown with a reception at 6 p.m. The exhibit includes works from Dawn DeDeaux, Courtney Egan, Dave Greber, Lonnie Holley and E.K. Huckaby, among several others.
The Museum of Design Atlanta is getting a new set of wheels when Skate It or Hang It!? The Evolution of Skateboard Art opens, which includes board art from the '70s to the present. (Check out our write-up here.)
The World Wide Art Federation is presenting Bellum Artis at The Goat Farm, opening at 8 p.m. Artis is an art competition which, in the words of WWAF, "challenges artists to act as gladiators in a cage fight with paint brushes, pencils, skill, and overt verbal jabs."
Last, but never least, Congressman John Lewis will be at St. John's Lutheran Church from 2-4 p.m. to speak about his book Across That Bridge, detailing Lewis' perspective as one of the last living Civil Rights leaders.
