Atlanta composer Mark Gresham is among 10 artists to receive an honorable mention in the “In 27 Pieces: The Hilary Hahn Encores” composition contest.

Hahn is one of the most famous and admired young violinists in the world, and her contest was designed to showcase new short-form pieces by contemporary composers. Contest winner Jeff Myers’ piece “The Angry Birds of Kauai” will be recorded by Hahn to appear on her forthcoming album “In 27 Pieces.” Hahn will premiere works by the honorable mentions, including Gresham’s piece entitled “Café Cortadito”, as concert encores sometime before December 2015.
