News First Slice 6/18/12: We are all pawns in the ARC's plan to destroy suburbia

1. Looks like we finally caught up with the rest of the country's crazy metro areas. Behold, the first article we've seen in which someone claims the Atlanta Regional Commission, the largely toothless agency that helps plan for metro Atlanta's future, has some sort of Agenda 21, eat-your-cul-de-sac vision.
3. Years after the rest of the world realized alternative energy's benefits, Georgia's starting to embrace such no-brainer technologies as solar and biomass power. Look out, future!
4. The Atlanta City Council will vote today on raising parking fines to appease the mighty gorgon named ParkAtlanta.
5. Also today: Mayor Kasim Reed will join Federal Transit Administration Regional Administrator Yvette Taylor, MARTA CEO Beverly Scott and other officials at a Siemens factory in Alpharetta - where the downtown streetcar's propulsion system will be built - to unveil the transit line's logo.
