This week, June 18-22, the renowned New York-based modern dance company H.T. Chen & Dancers will be visiting Atlanta to begin developing a new work about Chinese Southern immigrants. Regional arts service organization Alternate ROOTS is hosting representatives of the company during their tour of the city. The visit will include meetings with Atlanta-based dance companies, a dance workshop, a visit to World Refugee Day at the Clarkston Community Center, and a public dialogue about what it means to be an immigrant in the South.

The public dialogue takes place at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, at the Oriental Pearl Restaurant, 5399 New Peachtree Rd, Chamblee, GA. An RSVP is required. Contact Alternate ROOTS or call 404-577-1079 for more information. For a full schedule of the week's events, visit Alternate ROOTS.
