Lots of clothes will be folded this weekend.

This isn't the type of announcement that normally merits a separate story on Creative Loafing's blog, but in this case it's totally apt.

The performance installation FOLDING: anticipatory, routine, closure is the work of Atlanta-based artist Nicole Livieratos, and it will be presented at The Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia as a time-based art installation available for viewing this Friday and Saturday from noon to 3 p.m.

Livieratos is one of Atlanta's most fascinating artists, and she only recently made a return to the Atlanta arts scene after a debilitating car accident in 2009. The opportunity to see her intimate, funny, thought-provoking work is definitely not to be missed.

This latest performance piece is "a first draft performance installation giving thought to how we fold things, big and small, into our lives." Performers for the piece include Erin Weller Dalton, Kim Kleiber, Celeste Miller... and some clothes in need of folding.

MOCA GA presents "FOLDING: anticipatory, routine, closure," a first draft performance installation by Nicole Livieratos, on Friday and Saturday, June 22 & 23, running continuously from noon to 3 p.m. both days with a Q & A following each day. For more information visit MOCA or call 404-367-8700.
