First Slice 6/22/12: robot chicken deboners are a big deal

Posted By on Fri, Jun 22, 2012 at 8:13 AM

1) Atlanta police are on the lookout for three pixelated, slightly blurry black males after security camera footage of the recent carjacking at MillTown Lofts in Reynoldstown popped up on YouTube. There's also a video of the previous (attempted) carjacking from early May.

2) For all the technology in our lives, it seems coming up with a machine to debone chickens has been a flapping failure. That is, until now. After eight years work, a group of Georgia Tech engineers have developed a robot to do exactly that.

3) The Fulton County Jail has long had a problem with inmates jamming cell locks and opening them at will. Now that the facility has upgraded to new locks, Chief jailer Mark Adger is calling on the most experienced jail-breakers in the building to test them out. Inmates that can successfully breakout of their cells earn $20 of free commissary food and hygiene products.
