Since the FBI established the Innocence Lost National Initiative to crack down on child sex trafficking back in 2003, the FBI said more than 2,200 kids have been pulled from the streets and 1,000 convictions have gone through.
Atlanta, our fair city that has long fought a top ranking as a child sex trafficking hub, is home to one of the FBI's 47 Child Exploitation Task Forces, covering much of the southeast.
There's also a YouTube video of footage from the operation in four cities, Atlanta among them (just before the 8:00 mark), to show the "tireless work the local and state officers do every day, along with our task force members," according to the FBI's Atlanta office.
The arrest and recovery statistics are broken down by FBI division, so it's impossible to tell if the interventions were actually in Atlanta - but officers from Atlanta, Gwinnett County, and Fulton County Special Operations all made appearances in the video, so it's probably a safe bet.
