Yard signs such as this one on East Rock Springs Road marking gaps in sidewalks have lingered for months
Over the last few months, you've probably encountered the yard signs asking "Why not a sidewalk here?" At first we thought the campaign was a stealth effort by PEDS, the pedestrian advocacy group, to raise awareness about the lack of sidewalk funding. But Sally Flocks, the nonprofit's executive director, told us a while back that she didn't know who was responsible for the signs, which are usually placed along desire paths after a sidewalk abruptly ends. We emailed the address listed in small print on the signs earlier this week but haven't received a reply. Who are you? What do you want from us? We are peaceful people!
