1. Decatur Police's recruitment video is just as quaint as the small suburb. Now compare it to the Newport Beach Police Department's clip.
2. ICYMI: A peek inside the spending of Atlanta Beltline Inc., the nonprofit tasked with planning and developing the 22-mile loop of parks, trails, and (one day) transit. The bills include lobbyists, dinners, and birthday cakes(!).
3. Georgia Tech Police and Atlantic Station officials last week promised they'd "roll out" a new crime-fighting plan today. Bike cops? A cart stocked with free Medieval weapons? A fire-breathing robot?
4. Among the directors of a south Georgia bank that recently failed: the chairman of the state House Banking Committee.
5. Little League parents brawl in Columbus, Ga.!
6. And finally, "thousands" of people today are most likely without the Internet thanks to malware. Among them (we think): the beloved Pistol Pete, who we hoped would return today to Fresh Loaf's comments section.
