A food eating contest on Ponce de Leon Avenue, with a twist
Last week’s Time and Place photo was taken on July 1, 2012, at 6:50 p.m. at 736 Ponce de Leon Ave.
The photo was shot at the Book House Pub’s annual Fourth of July celebration. One of the main events is a food eating contest with a twist. There are four teams with two members per team. One member is in charge of eating. The other is in charge of feeding the eater. However, that person is blindfolded. As you can imagine, things get messy.
After the contest, participants are covered in a mess of churros, egg rolls, eclairs, and hot dogs. This year, the team representing Chambers of Horror, the Masquerade’s infamous haunted house, took the coveted prize.
