ATLwood: Owen Wilson really likes our town, ok?

Colin Firth, maybe not as happy to be here as Owen Wilson?

Star Sightings

— According to ATLwood reader Kereth, Owen Wilson was at Holman & Fitch Saturday night. He was also spotted at Bookhouse, the Four Seasons (with his well-trained dog, apparently), playing ping pong at Sister Louisa's, and at Smith's Olde Bar.

But wait, there's more! Owen was also biking around Piedmont (with a lady friend) and near Colony Square earlier this week. A friend-of-a-friend reports that when asked how he was enjoying the city he said he really liked it. Of course he does! The pro-TSPLOST group needs to get him on their side, he could be out stumping for the city!

Filming Updates

— "The Vampire Diaries" set up at East Point Church in East Point, though the word is that may just be the holding location for extras. We do know for sure that the show was filming at the nearby St Mark Lutheran Church (I'll let you guys consider the juxtaposition of church and vampires).

— "The Walking Dead" is filming in ... guess where? Senoia of course! On and around Main Street.

— Besides visiting every restaurant in town, Owen Wilson is actually filming a movie. The Internship, co-starring Vince Vaughn, has turned the restaurant inside the Hurt Building downtown into a strip club.

— Georgia Tech is going through a transformation for that film as well.

Reese Witherspoon and Colin Firth’s movie Devil’s Knot finally came to town, filming downtown on Tuesday.

— Despite a lot of rumors confirming both that The Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire would/would not be coming to Atlanta the latest rumor is that they will come here, supposedly starting in September.

Casting Calls

— CL casting is seeking those who can waltz. Email three pics plus age, height, weight and contact info to Idiomatl@gmail.com. List dance experience and put WALTZ in the subject line.

— The independent feature film Grantham and Rose is also seeking extras.

The Idiom is looking for fit ex-military/police type 6'0" caucasians. Send three pics plus age, height, weight and contact info to Idiomatl@gmail.com. Put KEEP in the subject line.

Have any tips? Sightings? Encounters? Pictures? Filming news? We need 'em! Especially during this slow summer season. Drop me a line: ATLwood@cln.com or send me a tweet @keeneTV (don't forget to use the hashtag #ATLwood)!
