Celebrity News

— A little-known fact about ATLwood is that despite my weekly reporting on celebrity comings and goings, I very rarely actually see any celebrities myself. But finally, Saturday, I ran into Owen Wilson! I guess it was bound to happen at some point since he's all over town. Saturday he was at the High Museum taking in the very cool Water and the Blood film exhibition outside. Most people seemed to not recognize him or, even if they did, left him alone. Probably a big reason celebrities look favorably on Atlanta.

— The AJC's Jennifer Brett recently interviewed Chris Lowell (The Help), an Atlanta native and "such a nice guy," as he shared tips with aspiring young filmmakers at Camp Flix.

Rumor Mill

— There are lots of whispers that Lindsay Lohan will indeed be filming in Atlanta soon ... stay tuned ...

— Apparently since Josh Hutcherson's hair is blonde again that is a signal that the Hunger Games has begun! Filming, at least. Or to be exact, they will be filming the sequel, Catching Fire, in 2 weeks here in town (cue collective "ERMAHGERD!!!!1!!").

Filming Updates

The Internship, starring Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, has been filming around Georgia State/ Georgia Tech in Atlanta. Want to know where? Look for yellow signs that say “Intern." (via @olv)

— "Bad Girls Club: Atlanta" started filming Thursday.

— According to ATLwood contributor Kim, "Disney held a private screening of The Odd Life of Timothy Greene Monday night for crew and local talent at Regal Atlantic Station. Director Peter Hedges was in attendance as was the star of the film Joel Edgerton. They both praised Georgia and Governor Deal. Edgerton plans on returning here in 2013.

— The teen comedy Premature has been filming in Dunwoody.

— MTV is shooting a pilot here called “Cassandra French’s Finishing School For Boys” throughout the first two weeks in August.

Casting Call

— "Necessary Roughness" needs lots of extras!

Have any tips? Sightings? Encounters? Pictures? Filming news? We need 'em! Especially during this slow summer season. Drop me a line: ATLwood@cln.com or send me a tweet @keeneTV (don't forget to use the hashtag #ATLwood)!
