Vine City parents don't want their children walking up to two miles to school each day, as Atlanta Public Schools officials have proposed, because of dangers in the historic neighborhood.

Georgia's state boards, commissions, and authorities are chock-full of multiple members of some very well-connected families.

An overwhelming number of Atlanta's water meters — about 90,000 — required repairs of some kind, according to early results from an in-the-works audit.
