Also in Clayton County: Bell, one of region's biggest transit advocates, and Ralph, who voted not to fund C-Tran, are out

Clayton County Chairman Eldrin Bell
In addition to the chin-scratcher of all chin-scratchers mentioned by my dear lifecoach Gwynedd Stuart this morning, some other Clayton County races are worth noting.

Chairman Eldrin Bell, probably the biggest transit advocate you'll find on the southside of metro Atlanta and a major T-SPLOST booster, was defeated by former Police Chief Jeff Turner. News reports are saying the defeat effectively marks the end of the 77-year-old former Atlanta Police chief's political career.

And Shanna Rooks, an attorney, defeated incumbent Commissioner Wole Ralph, one of several elected officials on the five-member commission who voted against funding C-Tran in 2009, the county's now defunct bus service.
