Victor Hill, the former Clay-Co Sheriff who was indicted in January on 37 felony charges including racketeering, won the runoff and reclaimed the office he lost to Sheriff Kem Kimbrough four years ago. Hill's attorney told 11 Alive News in January that the indictment included "allegations of unauthorized credit card use, misuse of campaign funds, and using county employees to work on his re-election campaign during county work hours" — and the charges are still pending. Maybe pacts with the devil are real?
2. One of Zoo Atlanta's majestic residents was called home yesterday. Ivan, the 50-year-old western lowlands gorilla to came to Atlanta by way of the Dem. Rep. of Congo, a shopping mall in Washington, then the Seattle Zoo. After falling ill in recent weeks, he was anesthetized for diagnostics, but never woke up.
3. Previously unheard audio of an interview with Martin Luther King, Jr. was discovered in an attic in Chattanooga.
