- TAMPA, FL - August 27, 2012 - The balloons at the top of the Tampa Bay Times Forum. They will be released after Mitt Romney's speech on Thursday night.
CL's staff photographer, Joeff Davis, has trudged through the trenches of Florida for the past five days, elbowing through mobs of photographers, anarchists, and invisible chair people to bring you his freaky take on the 2012 Republican National Convention. - TAMPA, FL - August 30, 2012 - Before marching to the forum protesters gathered in the park and chanted and shouted intensely. Protesters yelled and chanted in support of gay rights, immigrant rights, reproductive rights, taxing the rich and the reform of America's political system amongst other things. The chants were sometimes equally harsh on president Obama as Mitt Romney, one chant that began "Fuck Romney" were met by shouts of "Fuck Obama."

- TAMPA, FL - August 27, 2012 - Westboro Baptist Church members are protected from a crowd of angry counter-protesters by riot police. Minutes later they were escorted out of the protest zone by a phalanx of riot police.

- TAMPA, FL - August 26, 2012 - Michael Phillips, 31, lays on a gurney. He had a sign propped on him that said "I am voting for President Obama because... I support a president who believes people with disabilities should live in communities." Phillips suffers from the disease Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). He came to the convention area with his mother and brother.
