This morning CL photographer Dustin Chambers and I got a sneak peak of the art installed along the Beltline's southwest corridor, some of which is still in progress. The one-mile stretch we walked from Washington Park to Gordon White Park is a quiet, woodsy trail that the Beltline's Fred Yalouris likened to a country road. The art on this stretch reflects that feeling with lots of small, quiet pieces to stumble upon. While many pieces will be installed over the next couple of days and throughout the course of the two and a half month exhibition, Art on the Beltline kicks off its 2012 season this weekend with the Krewe of Grateful Glutton's Lantern Parade on Saturday, a performance from Decatur-based dance company Crossover Movement Arts on Sunday, and a panel discussion led by WonderRoot's Maggie Ginestra with six of the artists at Park's Edge in Inman Park also on Sunday. A full list of Art on the Beltline events can be viewed at art.beltline.org.

More photos from the southwest trail after the jump.
