First Slice 9/24/12: Dave FM prepares to say adieu

On Saturday, the DJs of Dave FM 92.9 will play the "Top 92 Dave" songs and revisit fond memories as the rock station prepares to, like so many others recently, change formats.

The proposed office, retail, hotel and residential complex surrounding Gwinnett County's Coolray Field, the home of the Atlanta Braves AAA team, looks unlikely to happen any time soon, so apartments have been proposed in its place, which has nearby residents in a tizzy, because c'mon, apartments are eww. Geez, just build a putt-putt course and video arcade across the street, call it FanPlex, and watch the $$$ flow from the faucets, y'all. Or just wait more than 15 years to aggressively push for the surrounding area's development!

A state law requiring food manufacturers to immediately alert agriculture officials when their products tests positive for contamination might not be working all that well just yet. According to the Associated Press, some of the facilities that were not following the law "did not know about it, did not understand the regulations or were waiting for state officials to review their food safety plans."
