Earlier in the week, CL reported that private attorney Glenn Delk had requested an emergency meeting from the state Board of Education — claiming that Barge, Fulton County Schools Superintendent Robert Avossa, and Atlanta Public Schools Superintendent Erroll Davis had improperly used taxpayer resources to lobby against the charter school amendment.
In the case of Barge, the main issue surrounded a 29-point document outlining his position against the amendment. According to the Associated Press, Barge spokesman Matt Cardoza stated that the superintendent has now come to terms with Attorney General Sam Olens about his "political activity regarding a statewide referendum on charter schools."
Cardoza also said that the Department of Education has removed Barge's anti-charter schools amendment document from its website. In case you missed it, you can still view that document here.
