The Midnight Hour: Landmark challenges Rocky Horror with its own slate of cult classics

While everyone knows that The Plaza's Rocky Horror Picture Show reigns supreme as the Friday midnight cult movie, but Landmark's Midtown Art Cinema is throwing down the gauntlet with a challenge hosting a melange of SFX extravaganzas (Jurassic Park), cult classics (Blue Velvet, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, Sid & Nancy), puppet comedies (Team America), violent revenge films (Drive, Old Boy) and a dose of camp (Flash Gordon). The series is called "Midnight Madness," the films screen at Midnights on Friday and Saturdays in October and November, and the series starts tonight.

The series kicks off tonight and tomorrow with Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park.

Oct 12 & 13: Flash Gordon

Oct 19 & 20: Blue Velvet

Oct 26 & 27: Team America: World Police

Nov 2 & 3: Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas

Nov 9 & 10: Sid and Nancy

Nov 16 & 17: Drive

Nov 23 & 24: Oldboy
