In case you haven't noticed, 92.9 FM has been primarily airing automated AAA programming since the station flipped formats at the end of last month. That will change in a couple weeks, as The Game — the station's new sports radio format — will debut its new daytime lineup on Oct. 24.
The roster features the likes of Randy Cross and C.J. Simpson from 6 to 10 a.m.; Jerome Jurenovich and Jaime Dukes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and Carl Dukes, Rachel Baribeau, and Kordell Stewart from 2 to 6 p.m. More additions will be announced in the coming days.
David Dickey, General Manager/President of 680/The Fan, spoke with the AJC about The Game, noting that the lineup is "clearly targeting a diverse audience." Rodney Ho nicely breaks down the station's anchors, also mentioning that its programming will likely change in the near future — with the possibility of The 2 Live Stews coming on board once their non-complete clauses with 790/The Zone expires — as well as new cross-promotions with V-103 and WAOK-AM.
RadioInsight.com also reports that Ryan Klesko, Dennis Scott, Bob Neal, Sam Mitchell, and Ovie Mughelli will also contribute on-air as either "fill-in hosts and regular commentators."
UPDATE, 2:11 p.m.: CBS Atlanta — who are also owned by CBS Corporation — posted a short statement from The Game Program Director Terry Foxx, who said: “We are pleased to have developed a roster of personalities who can really challenge and engage local sports fans and excite listeners beginning on day one. This is an extremely dynamic and passionate team of people who undoubtedly will let their opinions be known while expressing their unique personalities.”
Rick Caffey, Senior Vice President and Market Manager for CBS Radio Atlanta, added: "Whether you’re a die-hard professional sports fan, a devoted follower of college athletics, or just interested in keeping your Fantasy roster up to date, 92-9 The Game will be the station to turn to for all things sports related. We look forward to making our debut and working with our local partners, and the other CBS Radio properties to grow our audience and make an impact in the community."
