First Slice 11/11/12: Yep, that was an earthquake

A 4.3 magnitude earthquake near the border of Kentucky, Virginia, and Tennessee yesterday sent ripples throughout the southeast, including Atlanta. Says one Atlantan who felt the shocks:

Fulton County election officials were still printing voter lists and delivering them to precincts after polls opened on Election Day. That's not supposed to happen.

Hundreds of police officers on Friday and Saturday honored the Atlanta Police officers who died in a helicopter crash while searching for a lost child in southwest Atlanta. Officer Shawn Smiley, whose service was held yesteday, was remembered as someone who always talked about flying.

The resignation of Gen. David Petraeus is quickly becoming quite the soap opera.

An Amtrak train from New Orleans helped transport relief supplies including "diapers, canned goods, cleaning products, blankets, batteries [and] flashlights" for New Jersey communities hit by Hurricane Sandy.
