Charis Books has a busy week ahead- not only will they be hosting the bi-weekly Writing With Intent writer's workshop, but on Saturday they'll be hosting the Tall Tales and Real Man Adventures event down the street at the Star Bar. After transitioning from female to male, author T Cooper authored Real Man Adventures- a book that explores the meaning of manhood through a combination of essays, interviews, and artwork. To celebrate the book's release Cooper will take the stage with Amy Ray and Scott Turner Schofield for the third time in a decade. It may be years before the three join forces again- so think twice before missing out.
Open to fiction, poetry, and non-fiction writers alike- Charis Circle From Margin to Center Literary Program's facilitated group is tailored for serious writers looking for a literary workshop to shape-up their work and keep them focused. Suggested donation of $5.
The raucous group known as Write Club Atlanta is back and ready to deck your halls. What better way to celebrate Chrismakwanzukkah than with some literary sparring? Put down your spiked egg nog and head over to the HIghland Ballroom to hear bouts between Terra Elan McVoy (Harmony) v. Will Young (Discord), Myke Johns (Hope) v. Andisheh Nouraee (Despair), myself (Charity) v. Rachel Trignano (Greed), and Nicholas Tecosky (Angels) v. Jason Mallory (Demons). There will also be a Red Elephant Gift Exchange- bring in a wrapped gift and receive one in return! Cash or credit donations at the door.
