Former Outwrite Bookstore owner Philip Rafshoon has been named programming director of the Decatur Book Festival, according to the AJC, the event's presenting sponsor.
Rafshoon will replace current programming director Terra Elan McVoy, a well-known YA author, who tells the daily that she's departing in order to spend more time on her own writing: "After seven years of working with the festival, I feel it's time to concentrate similar energy on my writing and career as an author." Rafshoon says that as programming director, he intends to "showcase the diverse literature and culture we provide to an ever-expanding audience."
