Weekend Arts Agenda: In Unison at Get This!

In Unison at Get This!

Get This! Gallery is exhibiting its first group show of the new year and each artist has been hand selected by William Downs. Downs, who has built a reputation as a curator in both Atlanta during his undergrad work and in Baltimore during his graduate days, has chosen artists based on a connection he created with them during his career. In Unison opens Sat. night from 7-10 p.m., but don't miss the special guided tour of the exhibition with Downs in February. More art after the jump in this weekend arts agenda.

Friday

The Cube Gallery opens the new year with a brief show featuring artists Vasil Vasilev and Lynn Sisler. The show, which will only be on display til Jan. 14, features two very different approaches to art making. While Vasilev channels a certain abstract-surrealist aesthetic, Sisler explores layers and collages within her intricate paintings. There will be and opening reception plus refreshments at the gallery tonight starting at 7 p.m.
