Richard Long, a noted cultural historian and Emory University professor, has died. Over the course of his long and distinguished life, the Philadelphia native penned numerous books, taught around the country, was named a life member of the of the High Museum's Board of Directors, and donated his papers to the Auburn Avenue Research Library.
Georgia Department of Transportation crews today are expected to close Deering Road, a popular cut-through for motorists traveling from Northside Parkway to Peachtree Road, to make repairs to aging beams underneath the Brookwood Amtrak station. How long are we talking about? Probably six months.
