2. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has completed an inquiry into state payments to the outgoing Senate Rules chairman Don Balfour, but no word on what they actually found yet. Balfour said he "inadvertently" submitted claims for per diem and mileage reimbursements for days he was out of state.

3. Georgia Power plans to retire 15 coal and oil-fired energy generating units at four plants across the state, and hopes to close more in the near future, switching to natural gas and other alternatives.

4. After three years headquartered at the offices of Atlanta's NPR affiliate, WABE, StoryCorps Atlanta has a new home at the Atlanta History Center.

5. In Minnesota, Democratic grandmas are gathering all sorts of information about their neighbors, and feeding into the party's national database. They call it the "Grandma Brigade."

6. City officials this week condemned an apartment complex in East Point, forcing residents to find another place to live within 48 hours.
