News First Slice 1/22/13: Fulton and Dekalb Counties consider potential budget cuts

Two lawyers sued the Georgia Department of Driver Services' commissioner yesterday. They claim that James Cyrus Gilbert, whose application for license plates such as 4GAYLIB, GAYPWR and GAYGUY was rejected, had his constitutional rights violated.
Saporta Report points out that Gov. Deal has reduced the state's bond package while increasing the portion allocated for the metro Atlanta area.
City officials are hoping that state lawmakers will give them the authority to increase the city's alcohol sales tax by a 10th of a percentage, which they say could generate more than $11 million in revenue.
Both Fulton and DeKalb Counties are weighing potential budget cuts for 2013.
So what happens to all the Falcons' NFC Championship apparel that was made just in case they won Sunday's game? It'll apparently get donated to a Christian humanitarian organization called World Vision.
