Think twice before you drop that empty Funyuns bag on the train platform while waiting for MARTA. The person standing next to you could be MARTA CEO Keith Parker.
Since joining the agency in late December, Parker has been laying the groundwork to make the transit agency more transparent. He pushed to have his contract posted online, is bullish on sharing open data, and has joined Twitter. He's also promised to ride MARTA buses and trains around town to support the system and better understand its challenges.
This morning Parker took rail to hear Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood speak at the Georgia Municipal Association's legislative breakfast in downtown Atlanta.
Taking MARTA for event w/ Sec. LaHood. Clean station, full train, on time. Great start to the week. twitter.com/CEOMARTA/statu...
