First Slice 2/4/13: Superdome lights go out, Ravens still win

The lights went out in the Superdome during last night's Super Bowl game, giving America the opportunity to watch well-paid sportscasters run out of things to talk about. Mayor Kasim Reed was pleased with Beyonce's performance. Overall, the game was "f'ing awesome." And now we all get a break from football game stories in Monday morning First Slice posts!

Atlanta City Councilmembers today are expected to consider limiting public comment at the legislative body's committee meetings. The move is viewed by some as an attempt to limit public criticisms lobbed by a small group of rabble-rousers. Especially when you consider only about five people attend the events. And because it's an election year.

Atlanta needs a superhero whose sole purpose is to help put out all these warehouse fires. Atlanta Fire and Rescue can only do so much.

Every once in a while, a member of the Tough Questions™ Brigade gets an answer. Sometimes they're in the form of a closed fist from an angry elder.

Here's a peek at the new Fulton County Commission districts CL contributor Scott Henry mentioned in his most recent column. Under the proposal, the countywide seat filled by Commissioner Robb Pitts would be eliminated.
