Atlanta Streets Alive gets big cash boost from city
After picking up an award at the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition's Blinkie Awards on Saturday night at Ponce City Market, Mayor Kasim Reed announced that he was backing the car-free street festival with $50,000 in public funding. The additional cash could help ASA spread to include Peachtree Street. (Update: Link has been fixed)

A prominent young black Republican in Douglas County was blocked from holding a county GOP delegate spot because of what appears to be some petty politics. Such a move does not help rebrand the party, folks.

Atlanta Police descended on northwest Atlanta's Deja Vu nightclub early on Saturday morning.

Scammers are apparently buying iPads, filling the empty box with paper, rewrapping the package with plastic, and then returning it to the store. The box is then sold to someone else, who curses very loudly when they discover the paper.

Ch-ch-changes: Rupert Murdoch hints that he might consider discontinuing the notorious Page 3 topless model photos in The Sun, one of the many U.K. tabloids that helped the media mogul build his empire.

And finally: Pope Benedict XVI has announced that he'll resign at the end of February. He's the first man in the funny hat to voluntarily step down in nearly 600 years.
