Work crews are expected to finish construction by next spring

For more than a year, construction crews have been digging up and relocating utilities on Edgewood and Auburn avenues in preparation for the downtown streetcar. Today, the workers started actually laying tracks for the 2.7-mile line between Centennial Olympic Park and the King Center. Work began on Edgewood Avenue near the Downtown Connector. Installation of the 80-foot rail segments and other improvements along the route are expected to be completed by 2014.
