Busy news day in Doogie County, folks! Douglas County public health officials are spittin' mad over a billboard advertising smooth, smooth whisky located directly underneath a public-service announcement raising awareness about underage drinking.

Copper thieves have once again slipped past security measures at the Atlanta Department of Watershed Management offices on 14th Street and stolen the lucrative metal from trucks. Security cameras that were supposed to be watching the property reportedly weren't functioning. Fire the cameras!

Bill "Scoop" Kinney, the Marietta Daily Journal's 88-year-old associate editor who saw Cobb County morph from rural outpost to sprawl over his seven-decade journalism career, is stepping down. In later years, Kinney played a large role in the paper's gossipy "Around Town" column.
