Kai Lin Art opens its new Westside gallery tonight from 7 to 10 p.m. with two solo exihibitions: Nathaniel Galka's Cloud Bouncing and Kent Knowles's Avalanche. The new gallery space (shorthand: KLA 3.0 Westside) shares a building at the corner of 10th St. and Brady Ave. The exhibition will run through May 2.

More after the jump.

Path Within, an exhibition of work by Don Cooper

Path Within, an exhibition of work by Don Cooper, also opens tonight at Sandler Hudson Gallery from 7 to 9 p.m. Cooper's paintings reflect the convergence of meditative practice, unconventional material (think pigments ground from jade and turquoise), and mathematical theory. Sandler Hudson also has a new home on the Westside. The exhibition runs through June 1.

The Aurburn Avenue Research Library will screen 1912: Breaking the Silence at 5 p.m on Saturday. The film tells the story of the Partido Independiente de Color, the Afro-Cuban struggle, and the resistance in Cuba. A discussion with the filmmaker will follow as part of the 2013 Herstory Independent Film Festival.

Straw Hat Press will be at The Goat Farm Arts Center from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. If you have the time and extra cash, head that way to learn relief printmaking. You'll take four prints home. Sign up today - space is limited.
