Emory University faculty are holding an online vote this week to decide whether they stand behind President James Wagner. It's a largely symbolic vote following his controversial "three-fifths compromise" remarks, but the outcome could prompt the school's board of trustees to consider ousting its leader.

Louisville defeated Michigan last night in the 2013 NCAA championship game. Earlier in the day, NCAA president Mark Emmert praised Atlanta as a Final Four host and said that he had "no doubt" the Big Dance would return to the city.

Atlanta Public Schools superintendent Erroll Davis addressed the school system's future in the wake of nearly three dozen educator's indictments for their parts in the 2009 cheating scandal.

In case you were all wondering: Atlanta is in fact the seventh most post-industrial metropolitan area in the United States.

Gov. Nathan Deal signed legislation yesterday that will help veterans find work faster. The bill shortens the time it takes former military personnel to receive state licenses for jobs they trained to do while in service.

Atlanta bloggers: beware of what you say about Mayor Kasim Reed. He revealed his true colors yesterday as an Internet comment troll when he responded to a Saporta Report article and addressed his relationship with Atlanta City Council. Any guesses as to what his Reddit user name might be?

We'll give the Atlanta Business Chronicle the final word in today's First Slice for this headline: Man must serve 1 hour for each of 156 sea turtle eggs he stole.
