Reynoldstown is getting a new neighbor. Next week, Atlanta Habitat for Humanity will break ground on its new headquarters and a resource center for people who live in one of the nonprofit's community-built houses. The 5.3-acre compound will be anchored by a renovated 68,500-square-foot building and, according to a spokesman, will feature a "premier educational facility, a free-standing ReStore, a loading dock that will support 13 construction trailers, and technology and resources to better serve Atlanta Habitat homeowners." The property backs up to Trees Atlanta's headquarters on Chester Avenue and will be located just one block from the Atlanta Beltline. The organization hopes to move into the new property by the end of 2014, when the lease is up on its current headquarters, located just down the street on Memorial Drive.
