Beltline trail coming to Google Street View?

Slow down and coax Piper out of that pipe!

On your early morning jog or bike ride on the Atlanta Beltline, while you rejoiced in the smart-growth playground slowly unfolding around you, did you encounter a nice young man wearing what appeared to be a panoramic camera or all-seeing eye of Satan strapped to his back? He’s apparently with Google Street View, photographing the trail for the online time-waster. We’ve asked officials with Atlanta BeltLine Inc., the nonprofit in charge of developing and planning the 22-mile project, for more details.

It wouldn’t be the first park or greenspace project that Street View’s documented. The behemoth company has also photographed the High Line and the Grand Canyon, among other well-known spots. Here’s hoping he a.) momentarily stops to snap a shot of Piper and b.) doesn’t get tripped up by people standing in the middle of the Eastside trail, jeez, come on, you guys.
