First Slice 6/4/13: New 'precedent-setting' development may be headed to Bedford Pine

Atlanta Police last Friday seized an estimated $2.5 million in counterfeit merchandise in Southwest Atlanta. Eight people were arrested and face charges of Felony Forged or Counterfeit Trade.

Georgia House of Representatives clerk Robbie Rivers, who has kept track of the lower chambers' records for the past 21 years, will resign in August. "No one has loved this House more than Robbie Rivers and no one has so fully dedicated themselves to its well-being as he has," House Speaker David Ralston, R-Blue Ridge, said.

Eight years after a fire destroyed two Bedford Pine apartment buildings, redevelopment may finally happen on the now-vacant lot near the intersection of Boulevard and Angier Avenue. Developer Wingate Companies says the facility would be "precedent-setting" because it would be the first time Section 8 property has been approved for seniors only.
