First Slice 7/7/13: Deal gets out of the auto salvage business

Gov. Nathan Deal and his business partner have sold the auto salvage facility that landed the governor in hot water during his gubernatorial campaign.

We're no. 40! Georgia ranks near the bottom of the country when it comes to per capita income. According to a Colorado State University economist, the state is adding jobs, but they are lower-paying jobs.

God bless the 'burbs. A Cherokee County school board member, a GOP consultant, and a county Republican Party official have been accused of making false statements after they accused the school superintendent of trying to hit them with a car. It's part of an ongoing drama involving the school board.

Three people yesterday were ejected from a car that spun out of control after being struck on I-75/85 near 17th Street. One person has died from their injuries.

Forget the Braves. The Atlanta Silverbacks, the city's professional soccer team, last week won its league's spring championship.

If you're going to steal a car, wear a kilt.
