DeKalb police are saying that four people arrested over the Fourth of July weekend could be tied to the recent string of high-profile crimes that have hit southeast Atlanta. Spokesman William Wallace told the AJC that "evidence connecting them to additional crimes was obtained."

Governor Nathan Deal has appointed a panel including Rockdale CEO Richard Oden, Clayton County Commission Chairman Jeffrey Turner, and state Attorney General Sam Olens to determine whether DeKalb CEO Burrell Ellis should be suspended.

Deal also yesterday reported that he has raised $613,000 since the beginning of 2013 and has nearly $1.1 million in his campaign coffers.

DeKalb's cityhood saga carried on last night as groups in Stonecrest and Tucker held community meetings to further discuss their plans. [Warning: 11 Alive autoplay alert]
