Shortly after a Florida jury issued a “not guilty” verdict and George Zimmerman was declared a free man in the killing of Trayvon Martin, protests started in Atlanta. Starting early Sunday morning through Sunday afternoon and into the evening, protesters held rallies, marched through the streets, blocked intersections, and shouted their disappointment. Throughout the demonstrations, protesters were peaceful and no arrests were reported.

Another protest and march is planned for 7 p.m. at the Atlanta University Center.
