Thousands of people gathered in Downtown Atlanta yesterday afternoon outside the Richard B. Russell Federal Building to hold a prayer vigil and rally for Trayvon Martin. The crowd, which endured an hourlong rainstorm, protested the jury's decision to acquit George Zimmerman of all charges in the 17-year-old's death. The event was one of 100 across the country organized by the Rev. Al Sharpton's National Action Network. More rally photos by CL photo intern Alyssa Pointer are after the jump.

The Georgia Dome hosted more than 54,000 people yesterday (including my wife and I) to watch Panama beat Cuba 6-1 and Mexico score a lone, late game-winning goal to eliminate Trinidad and Tobago in the CONCACAF Gold Cup quarterfinal matches. Here's a panoramic photo, courtesy of the Atlanta subreddit.

Helen Thomas, the feisty White House reporter who covered 10 presidents before her career took a blow in 2010 over controversial remarks about Israel and Palestine, has died. She was 92.
