Atlanta Police say they have arrested a suspect allegedly involved in a string of brazen silver and jewelry thefts that have plagued much of metro Atlanta over the past several months.

Atlanta Police arrested Farhana Sultan last Friday in connection to a string of silver and jewelry burglaries in Buckhead, Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, Cobb County, and Alabama. According to the Fulton County Jail, Sultan faces five counts of theft by receiving stolen property and one count for possession of methamphetamine. She was released from jail yesterday on $35,000 bonds.

APD spokeswoman Kim Jones tells CL that more than $100,000 in stolen items have since been recovered from Sultan's Downtown Atlanta apartment. While the department had directly been involved in three cases, she says the case also "involves at least [four] metro jurisdictions and spans across two states." At a press conference earlier today, APD Lt. Rod Woody told reporters that stolen goods - which also include a MacBook Pro, desktop computer, and flat-screen television - were also found during a search of Sultan's residence.

APD recovered silver plates, forks, knives, and more from a recent string of robberies

Woody also indicated that more arrests could follow in the near future, but for now officers are contacting victims so they can reclaim their property.
