VIDEO: Living Walls wraps up 20 days of murals

This year's Living Walls street art conference has come to an end after 20 days of painting across Atlanta. This year's conference included an early visit from French artist JR, a very international lineup of artists, a big party with Killer Mike, and (at least so far) none of the neighborhood controversy that caused two murals to be covered up last year.

As Debbie Michaud noted in her recent column, the murals painted for this year's conference were approved by a thorough City Council vetting process that has always been required but rarely enforced of murals in the city. The language in this process "raises some fundamental questions about free speech and whether or not the city is overstepping its bounds when it comes to telling citizens what they can and can't do on their own private property."

Whether that process helped prevent a repeat of last year's controversy is unclear, but all the proposed murals were approved and now finished. Take a glance at these last two short clips from CL's Dustin Chambers that show the completed works.
